Fall is my favorite time of year. The excitement of change is in the air, a year older, the crispness of the weather, a new school year, the anticipation of the new football season whatever it is I love it.

Over the years we have attended the local university homecoming festivities, went trick or treating in the university dorms (the doors are so close together the kids can get loads of goods-Greg's favorite), picnics under the aspen trees, carving pumpkins, trunk or treating, costume contests, hot cocoa, the Imogene pass run and everything pumpkin.

Saturday we headed an hour south to a small family farm with a petting zoo, hay ride, corn maze and a pumpkin patch. Due to an early frost some of the pumpkins had to be imported but we think we found one that was from the farm to bring home for carving. Wish us luck!

Bethanie seemed to enjoy the petting zoo most. She loved the goats and donkey. There were a few geese she was fascinated with however they wouldn't let her get too close.

Seems as though she is going to be an animal lover like her big sister. She loves our dog, Liberty and my friend Terri's dog, Theo, THE basset hound. She spent an hour one evening at Theo's side not to be distracted by anything else. Lucky for her Theo was a good sport. Another evening Bethanie watched intently while Terri patted her leg calling Theo to her next thing we know Bethanie is patting the side of her leg wanting Theo to come to her. She came home and tried to get Liberty to come by patting her leg. She was certain she had learned a new trick and could get Liberty to obey, unfortunately, Liberty still sees Bethanie as an equal.
