Much needed Winter Escape

If you looked out my front door today you would be greeted by a lingering 2-3 feet of snow.  So what is a girl to do when she's a desert rat at heart and needs to escape the cold and dingy grey snow?  She grabs a friend with a little one too and heads to Phoenix to meet up with another friend at the ZOO!  That's exactly what this girl did!
Bea girl didn't spend much time in her stroller (as I had hoped) she walked or mostly ran through the zoo for nearly 7.5 hours. She was one tired kiddo by the end of the day.  What a pal Diego was to Bethanie, he spent all day helping me keep Bethanie close.  She loved holding his hand as we walked between exhibits.
Up close and personal with the baboon!
Quick pic while riding the zoo train.
We took several shots of these three on the Komodo Dragon and this is the only one where all three are looking at the camera.  Notice all three have their tongue sticking out.  Needless the say they liked the statue better than the live komodo dragon.
The carousel ride at the end of the day.  The smile looks a little tired to me.  The trip was well worth the 2 hours of screaming we endured on the ride home.  Both little ones were overtired and beyond getting comfortable in their carseats one would stop screaming just long enought to let the other one take over.  We couldn't help but laugh.  Great weather, great company and great fun was enjoyed by all.  Thanks, Jenny and Melissa for helping this desert rat escape winter for a day.
