The Happiest Place on Earth

We took Bailee to Disneyland for her 3rd birthday.  It was a March trip and California had been in a very long drought.  A drought that decided to end while we were in the park.  It rained and rained and rained.  The crowds were light but we were wet.  We decided to make the best of it and enjoy ourselves.  We purchased three yellow Mickey Mouse ponchos and continued with the fun. Fast forward just over 21 years later we are on our way to Disneyland again to celebrate Bethanie's third birthday.  Despite the warnings that Disneyland would be busy on the week we chose to go we were determined to make it a successful trip.  The crowds were heavy, bumper to bumper you might say, but if you look at that little face in front of Minnie's house you can tell that our trip was a success.
Bethanie loved all the Disney characters and I am sure that was her favorite part of the trip.  She has been on a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fixation for several months.  She carries all the clubhouse figurines with her everywhere she goes.  It used to be the princesses but Minnie and Mickey now trump Snow White and Belle.  She saw Goofy, Mater, Lightning McQueen, Minne, Mickey, Pluto, Woody, Sully, and a short glimpse of Cinderella.  We missed all the princesses but I think she would have been more disappointed to have missed Mickey and Minnie.  We will have to catch them next time.
Greg and I took Bethanie and Canyon to a Mickey Mouse clubhouse show so Bailee and Zach could take in a few big kid rides.   Bethanie was on her feet dancing the whole time while Canyon took in all the colors and sounds.
Yes, I put the little ones in matching shirts both days.  I couldn't help myself.  The adults are lucky I didn't do the same to them.
The apprehension about an amusement park was a waste of energy.  Bethanie loved Disneyland.  Pirate of the Caribbean was a little scary for her at first but she did fine on the Haunted House my guess is because they had it all decked out for Halloween with a "Nightmare before Christmas" theme.  Awesome by the way!  The adults all seemed to really enjoy Toy Story Mania & Tower of Terror and Bailee and I  loved California Screamin'.  Small World and Winnie the Pooh were probably miss Bea's favorites.  Other than the heavier crowds going during the Halloween season was way cool.  I loved all the detail Disney put into decorating for the holidays.  Makes me want to see what they do for the Christmas season.
