A conversation with my two year old

As we walked the dog last night at 9PM on the pedway behind our house.  Bethanie insisted on wearing her sunglasses even though I reminded her that it is dark outside and the sun wasn't up.  Every morning she tells me, "The sun is up" with such conviction.

Bea:  Mom, look at that cute moon.
Mom:  It is cute isn't it?
Bea:  And look at all those cute stars. (said with much enthusiasm)

On the way back to the house.

Bea: There's my home.
Mom:  Yes, that is your home.
Bea:  It is a cute home.
Bea:  That home is cute too.  (Pointing to the neighbors home.)
Mom:  Yes, it is.
Bea:  Where's the moon?
Mom:  Behind us
Bea: Oh! (again with enthusiasm)
Bea:  That's a cute moon.

I don't know why these conversations crack me up.  Maybe because in two short years she has grown up so much my brain can't comprehend how much she knows and understands.  And I love it when little ones test out words to find the right context.  It is my favorite.

I love those CUTE little conversations too. I'm always so glad that I wrote those things down and get to read them over and over again when they are bigger. She is such a sweetheart.
